NEW! Yoga Therapy Group Facilitator Training
(Duration: 6 months/65 contact hours & 300 supervised practicum hours)

Provides Phoenix Rising Practitioners with the skills and knowledge to organize, market and facilitate eight-week group programs focused on helping people cope with stress and stress-related symptoms. Based on Michael Lee’s new book, Turn Stress Into Bliss, the program follows a progressive, thematic approach to awareness, choice and change and is effective for a broad spectrum of participants coping with stress or illnesses such as cancer, heart disease, high blood pressure or addictions. The program is well suited to be offered through health institutions, educational organizations and human resources departments of corporations.

Training is an eight-day residential intensive followed by a six-month practicum in your home area with group mentoring by faculty. Successful completion of an eight-week group program in your community is needed for certification.

By the end of this advanced program participants will:

  • Be able to plan, organize, market, and facilitate eight-week group programs based on Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy and meditation experiences in medical, educational and corporate settings
  • Have the flexibility, skills, and knowledge to be able to adapt these programs for a variety of populations, contexts, and needs
  • Be able to network with the mainstream medical, corporate, and educational communities to demonstrate the effectiveness of yoga-based programs for stress reduction
  • Have the knowledge, skills and resources to become a focal point in their communities for stress relief programs using yoga and meditation
  • Understand the nature of the connection between lifestyle, stress, and disease
  • Be able to facilitate body-mind processes and group discussion that will empower clients to make lasting changes to reduce stress in their lives

Prerequisites:

Participants must be certified practitioners having successfully completed all three Levels of the Professional Certification and have an active practice.

Program Structure:

Eight-day residential workshop followed by six-month community-based project and practicum in home area with group mentoring by faculty. Successful completion of project required for graduation and certification.

Program Fee:

$2,695.

Practitioners wishing to enroll for the next available program should e-mail or write stating their interest in the program and also provide a brief outline of their intentions on completion. In particular they should briefly describe the population and context they intend to focus on for the project part of the program.
